Jesus Christ introduces the Holy Spirit to me as powerful fire, powerful secret and powerful mystery. His power works to prepare me for his purposes.
The refiner’s fire of Malachi is a portent of the coming of the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost. But who can endure the day of his coming? Who can stand when he appears? For he will be like a refiner’s fire or a launderer’s soap. Malachi 3:2
The refiner’s fire burns away the impurities and leaves pure metal as he leads me in the way everlasting. “I baptize you with water for repentance. But after me comes one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. Matthew 3:11
Holy Spirit, Take charge of my spiritual growth and lead me in the way of truth. I submit my life to you and to Jesus Christ my savior. Amen.
The Holy Spirit is everywhere and nowhere. He is present when I am aware and when I am not aware. He is completely in control of all situations and untouchable by any enemy. The mystery of the Holy Spirit will never be explained. But since I am born of the Spirit, I hear him as the wind and he speaks and prays for me. So too the Holy Spirit comes to our aid and bears us up in our weakness; for we do not know what prayer to offer nor how to offer it worthily as we ought, but the Spirit Himself goes to meet our supplication and pleads in our behalf with unspeakable yearnings and groanings too deep for utterance. Romans 8:26
The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.” John 3:8
Holy Spirit, Fill me with your power, fill me with wisdom, comfort me and help me to learn of your ways. Lead me in the way everlasting. Amen.
The powerful secret of the Holy Spirit sustains me and protects me. It can only be described as ‘rivers of living water’. I yearn to drink from the fountain of the Spirit and to be refreshed by Him. On the last and greatest day of the festival, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.” By this he meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were later to receive. Up to that time the Spirit had not been given, since Jesus had not yet been glorified. John 7:37-39
Holy Spirit, Fill me to overflowing with rivers of living water. Protect me and show me what I need to know and do to please you. Amen.
