Open their eyes

[print-me]

This narrative in 2 Kings is prophetic in many ways, demonstrating that faith is a point of view that reveals the truth. Your enemy cannot stand against you when your eyes are opened and you see through his lies.

2 Kings 6:17 King James Version (KJV)

17 And Elisha prayed, and said, Lord, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the Lord opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.

Eyes of Elisha

Elijah is remembered as one of the greatest prophets of the Old Testament. He ministered to the Nation of Israel in its darkest period. Jezebel and Ahab were more wicked than any other kings before them. They were destroyed at the prophecy of Elijah.

1 Kings 21:23 New International Version (NIV)

23 “And also concerning Jezebel the Lord says: ‘Dogs will devour Jezebel by the wall of Jezreel.’

Elisha was Elijah’s protégé.  He asked for and received a double portion of Elijah’s spirit.

2 Kings 2:9-12 New International Version (NIV)

9 When they had crossed, Elijah said to Elisha, “Tell me, what can I do for you before I am taken from you?”

“Let me inherit a double portion of your spirit,” Elisha replied.

10 “You have asked a difficult thing,” Elijah said, “yet if you see me when I am taken from you, it will be yours—otherwise, it will not.”

11 As they were walking along and talking together, suddenly a chariot of fire and horses of fire appeared and separated the two of them, and Elijah went up to heaven in a whirlwind. 12 Elisha saw this and cried out, “My father! My father! The chariots and horsemen of Israel!” And Elisha saw him no more. Then he took hold of his garment and tore it in two.

In the same way you can ask for a double portion of the spirit of Elijah and you can begin to see with eyes of faith.

The ministry of Jesus

Jesus came to give sight to the blind and to make blind those who think they already see.

John 9:39 New International Version (NIV)

39 Jesus said, “For judgment I have come into this world, so that the blind will see and those who see will become blind.”

Speak words of faith

As you grow spiritually, your faith allows you to see the spiritual enemy more clearly and that his attacks against you are illusions. Speak words of faith against your enemy and deny the reality of his effect on your life. He cannot make you sick. He cannot make you poor. He cannot steal from you. He cannot harm you in any way.

Romans 4:17 King James Version (KJV)

17 (As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.

Therefore you also can call those things that are not (your healing) as though they were and invoke the divine power of the word of God in your life.

Personal testimonial

After several spiritual battles, a man was experiencing flu-like symptoms and felt bad enough to visit the Emergency Room. The doctor could not find an elevated temperature and the lab brought back results of normal function. There were no real symptoms, despite the feeling of being sick. So from then on, he always called any adverse medical condition ‘lying symptoms’. There have been many occasions since then to renounce and pray against lying symptoms. Those symptoms always disappeared without medical treatment.
