Healing occurs as a regular practice among christian believers today. Without healing, the gospel would be without power. Because it is Jesus who heals, we have assurances throughout the Bible that he will do it. Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. Hebrews 13:8
God is able to do anything. But He said, “The things that are impossible with people are possible with God.” Luke 18:27
God is nearby to listen to our prayers. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. Matthew 18:20
Jesus tells us that we will perform greater works than he did. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. John 14:12
Ask, seek, knock. This is the essence of prayer for healing. And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: 1 John 5:14
And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it. John 14:13-14
And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. Luke 11:9

Early church examples of healing
Healing became a standard part of the gospel message to crowds in the eastern part of the Roman Empire. These examples demonstrate the types of healing that were most common. It is important to use the Bible as a reference to understand what is the truth about healing. For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope. Romans 15:4
Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God. And all the people saw him walking and praising God: And they knew that it was he which sat for alms at the Beautiful gate of the temple: and they were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened unto him. And as the lame man which was healed held Peter and John, all the people ran together unto them in the porch that is called Solomon’s, greatly wondering. Acts 3:6-11
Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them. And the people with one accord gave heed unto those things which Philip spake, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did. For unclean spirits, crying with loud voice, came out of many that were possessed with them: and many taken with palsies, and that were lame, were healed. Acts 8:5-7
Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them. Acts 5:15
And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul: So that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them. Acts 19:11-12
And it came to pass, that the father of Publius lay sick of a fever and of a bloody flux: to whom Paul entered in, and prayed, and laid his hands on him, and healed him. So when this was done, others also, which had diseases in the island, came, and were healed: Acts 28:8-9
Lord Jesus, I believe you healed all those people mentioned in the Bible. I believe you can heal me. Heal me today. I receive my healing by faith. Amen.
Life and being is a miracle
The word miracle means an extraordinary event manifesting divine intervention in human affairs. We only start to believe when our sense of natural law is violated. However, even natural law is subject to God’s power and is sustained by his word. If I dig deeper beneath the cause effect explanations of science I always have to say that God did it.
Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high: Hebrews 1:3
For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring. Acts 17:28
Lord Jesus, I believe your word above that of the doctors. They only have imperfect knowledge. I will temper their unbelief with my faith in you. When they offer no hope, I will always have hope in you and in your word. Amen.
Redemption of our bodies
Our salvation experience includes the redemption of our bodies. However, we must wait patiently for it. Our final adoption as sons is very near. We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption to sonship, the redemption of our bodies. For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what they already have? But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently. Romans 8:22-25
